Welcome to the Macedon Historical Society
Our mission is to promote and encourage historical research and preservation regarding the community of Macedon, NY and to disseminate that information back into the community.
Meetings
Board meetings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. These meetings are to conduct the business portion of the Historical Society. All members/stakeholders are welcome to attend.
Meetings are conducted at the Historic Macedon Academy at 1185 Macedon Center Road, Macedon, NY 14502 April - November. Meetings for February and March are held at the Macedon Center Meetinghouse at 1208 Macedon Center Road, Macedon, NY 14502 (there are NO meetings December or January).
These meetings are free to the public.

Below is a TENTATIVE event schedule for MHS at the Academy or Meetinghouse.
Tuesday, February 13th, David Bruinix 6:00pm will give a presentation on the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse and the progress. This will be at the Meetinghouse.
Saturday, March 23rd, 2:00 - 4:00pm Meetinghouse - Nettie Bullis Tea Party to celebrate her birthday .
Monday, April 8th, The 2024 Eclipse plans are in the works.
Saturday, April 20th - Earth Day - Clean up around Academy & Meetinghouse.
Sunday, April 28th, Cindy Russell will give a presentation on the old readers "DICK and JANE" books, you must remember them in the classroom. Location TBA.
MHS FISCAL YEAR BEGINS on MAY 1st.
Monday, May 27th Memorial Day Observance - Main St., Macedon - Ceremony Noon, Parade 12:30pm to the Erie Street Cemetery.

Sunday, December 1st - Holiday Appreciation Open House - lighting of the Macedon Center Tree - sing a longs and Santa/Mrs. Claus - at the Meetinghouse.
Sunday, December 8th - "A Christmas Carol" 2:00pm - Cosponsored with Gananda Rotary Location TBA

Chats
Community Chat series are meetings that are held on the 2nd Tuesdays of the months of February, May, August and November at 6:30pm - after the Board Meetings. Refreshments are provided.
A local family/or group is invited to attend and share their story of Macedon. These chats spin off in all directions. A lot of fun and the discussions are priceless. These chats are documented and posted on the website.
