Donate towards a memorial bench on the Story Brook Trail at The Erie Canal Lock 30 in Macedon.
In loving memory of Carol Elaine Deys, we invite you to hlep us place a memorial bench along the beautiful Story Brook Trail at Lock 30 in Macedon on the Erie Canal.
The Story Brook Trail was thoughtfully conceived and created by Dick and Carol Elaine Deys to complement the Butterfly Trail, a project they both passionately supported. This bench will celebrate Carol Elaine's legacy and continue her work in making our community a more welcoming and inspiring place.
The bench which the town recommends is very durable. The 4' style is about $545. Details on the bench can be found here.
Thank you for helping us remember and honor Carol Elaine's generosity, vision, and love for our trails and community. We intend to hold a dedication once it is installed.

Update (February 2026)
- Due to your amazing generousity, we have received the funding for the bench! We will be ordering the bench shortly. We won't be able to install the bench until the weather gets nicer though, so it won't be installed until sometime this summer.
